What is LARV?
Luleå ARbetsmarknadsVecka - LARV
Luleå ARbetsmarknadsVecka (LARV) or in english Luleå Labor Market Week, is a week filled with industry-related events held annually at Luleå University of Technology (LTU). Since 1983, LARV has been organized by Teknologkåren at LTU and is a project aimed at helping students develop their connections with the business world and prepare them for life after graduation. Since its inception, the project has grown to now involve 100 exhibitors, attract over 2000 students, and have a turnover of about 3 million SEK. This makes LARV the most comprehensive project at LTU.
As the name LARV suggests, the project is primarily about planning a week dedicated to students' career development. LARV usually takes place during the 4th week of January and offers events and activities such as inspiring seminars, workshops, career coaching, and individual meetings between students and exhibitors. The main event held during LARV is the LARV fair. This fair serves as a platform for students and exhibitors to connect and really get to know each other. The fair is a full day event and concludes with a grand banquet that every participant and involved student is invited to attend.
Prep-week is another important part of the project. This is a week held a couple of months before the fair week with the intention of preparing students for LARV. This is done through informative seminars about LARV, how to present oneself to companies, how to get started with and use LinkedIn, how to write a personal letter, and other similar events.
Are you interested in participating in this year's LARV? You are able to make your registration here. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us here.
Every year after the fair, we have celebrated the fair with a banquet! Everyone who attends the banquet has either participated as an exhibitor or is a student who has been involved in LARV. For the LARV banquet 2024, the dress code is dark suit or equivalent attire.
