Volunteer

Volunteer

As a volunteer, you are primarily involved during the LARV fair and PREP-WEEK to assist with the practical aspects of the project. The volunteers are the cornerstones in making it possible to carry out the LARV fair according to the plan set by the project group and the coordinators. Similar to the coordinator posts, the tasks vary greatly between each type of volunteer. A volunteer can, for example, be a receptionist or a driver while a exhibitor volunteer has the task of contacting, meeting and taking care of two exhibitors before and during the fair. See the list below for a complete description of the different types of volunteers and their tasks.

Since most volunteers are appointed a few months before LARV they are not primarily involved in planning the project. Instead, as a volunteer you have an impact on the project through evaluations, workshops and direct contact with the person in charge of your department. Which basically means that your input as a volunteer is highly valuable for future planning of the LARV fair. The period of involvement and work load is for a volunteer generally the shortest and mildest out of the commitments that LARV offers. Expected working hours varies greatly depending on which type of position you want but more often than not it's below 5 hours per week. The position as volunteer is therefore suitable for you who want to test an simpler, less time-consuming commitment or gain a superficial insight on the biggest project on Luleå University of Technology.

As a banquet host, you work with producing and removing decor before and after the banquet, setting the table for serving areas, staffing the wardrobe, logging visitors during the mingling evening and answering questions during the fair day regarding lunch and the banquet. If you have questions about being a banquet host, contact bankett@larv.org.

Chauffeur

As a chauffeur, you will be responsible for transporting company representatives to and from activities related to LARV during LARV-week. Good service ability, good local knowledge, safe behind the wheel and a positive attitude are sought for qualities for this position. To be accepted, a B-drivers license is a requirement! If you have any questions about being a driver, contact service@larv.org.

As a corporate host, you are assigned to be a contact person for a couple of specific exhibitors on the fair. You will ensure that their registration is complete, help them with any questions before and during the LARV fair and be available during the fair day to make sure that they have everything they need at their stand. Do you want to make contacts, develop your service ability and are you an outgoing person? Then you will thrive and succeed as a corporate host. If you have questions about being a corporate host, contact anmalan@larv.org.

As a logistics volunteer, you work to help move goods and keep track of incoming and outgoing goods and rented equipment during the fair day. If you have questions about being a logistics host, contact logistik@larv.org.

As a lounge volunteer, you are responsible for keeping a lounge in a presentable condition during the day. It includes changing rubbish bins, clearing tables, refilling water, tea, coffee, etc. There are two different types of lounges: corporate lounges and volunteer/host lounges. Do you have good service ability and care that the visitors should have as good an experience as possible? Then this post is for you! If you have questions about being a lounge volunteer, contact samarbete@larv.org.

As a career fair volunteer, you will carry furniture, transport goods, furnish the lounges and help in the preparations for the activities that require equipment during the LARV fair. Power wiring is also included, where two people will pull and tape extension cables based on the wiring diagram. If you have any questions about being a career fair volunteer, contact massbyggnad@larv.org.

As a night guard, you guard the lounges, the fair area and the area around the fair during the night before they are to be used. If you have any questions about being a night guard, contact massbyggnad@larv.org

As a receptionist, you will be at the reception and have a good overview of the fair. The tasks include answering simple questions, directing guests to exhibitors that they do not find or referring to others within LARV-CREW for specific questions that may arise. Do you have good service ability and a happy mood? Then this post is perfect for you! If you have questions about being a receptionist, contact service@larv.org.

Working within the group "The Incredibles" means that you will not be assigned a permanent position. Your work requires you to be available and to help during the LARV fair whereever you're needed, whenever you're needed. There are no basic requirements that need to be met to apply, though having a drivers license is a merit. If you have any questions about being part of The Incredibles, contact rekrytering@larv.org.
